There are many things that teens, hold dear.  There are relationships with friends, girl/boy friends, cars, money, jobs and so many things that you think are important.  But, out of all these things, what is the most important?  How do we know what really matters?  God's Word, the Bible says in Jeremiah 9:24, But let him that glorieth glory in this, that he understandeth and knoweth me...  saith the LORD.

The most important thing is knowing God.   Many people know about God, but they don't really know God on a personal level.  Knowing God on a personal level means that you recognize God as the only One who can save you from hell, and have put your full trust in Him.  Have you ever trusted Christ as your Savior?  Have you asked God to forgive you for all the things that you have done wrong?  If you haven't done this, then the Bible says that you are headed for hell.  Let me explain it to you a little better.

Romans 3:23 says, For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.  A sin is anything that you do that is wrong.  Lying, having a bad attitude, lusting, disobeying authority, these are all sins.  Now, I'm sure you can admit that you have sinned.  I know I have, and still do. 

Romans 6:23 says, For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.  Wages are what you deserve for doing something.  Well, this verse says that because of our sin, we deserve to die and go to hell.  That is pretty bad news. 

Romans 5:8 says, But God commendeth His love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners Christ died for us. The good news is that these verses also say that the gift of God provides eternal life for us.  You see, Jesus is God's only Son and He has never sinned, so by His death, He provided us a way to get to Heaven.   But Jesus didn't stay dead.  He came back to life three days later and is living in heaven right now.

Romans 10:13 says, For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.  That very simply means that if you believe these verses, that Jesus who had never sinned died and rose from the dead, you can go to Heaven!!  If you believe that and pray to God and ask Him to forgive you for your sins and thank Him for making a way for us to get to heaven, you can be saved.  Being saved means that after your body dies on earth, your spirit will go to heaven and live there forever.

If you have never done this before, it is very simple.  If you understand everything that I have said and would like to be saved, right where you are sitting, pray and ask God to save you.  Below is a sample of a prayer you can use.  Please understand that the words of this prayer are not magical and do not save you, but what you believe is what will change your heart.

    "Dear Lord, I am a sinner; please forgive my sins and come into my heart and save me; in Jesus' name. Amen."

If you prayed that prayer and meant it, then congratulations, you are saved!!!
